Connor Naismith MP Labour Member of Parliament for Crewe and Nantwich
Connor Naismith, MP for Crewe and Nantwich, has launched a new campaign to address persistent mobile signal and connectivity issues in Haslington, an issue that has been frustrating residents and businesses for far too long.
Many residents report struggling with dropped calls, weak signal and unreliable mobile data, making it difficult to stay connected—whether for work, personal safety, or simply keeping in touch with loved ones. Businesses have also raised concerns about the impact on their ability to operate effectively, particularly in an increasingly digital economy.
To push for improvements, Connor is calling on residents to join him in demanding action from mobile providers. Mr Naismith has met with Icon Towers, who currently have planning permission to build a mast in Haslington, but cannot do so without the support of a network provider.
A dedicated letter-writing platform has been launched, allowing local people to directly voice their concerns and experiences to telecom companies. By demonstrating the scale of the problem, the campaign aims to secure the investment and infrastructure improvements needed to bring Haslington’s connectivity up to standard.
Connor Naismith MP commented:
“In 2025, there is no excuse for people being left without a reliable mobile signal. I’ve spoken to residents who can’t make calls in their own homes, businesses that have suffered due to poor connectivity, and families who worry about being unable to reach loved ones in an emergency. This is not just an inconvenience—it’s a major problem that needs fixing.
“The more voices we bring together, the harder it will be for providers to ignore this issue. That’s why I’m urging residents to join me in writing directly to the mobile companies and demanding action.”
The campaign follows growing frustration in Haslington over poor connectivity, with residents sharing their experiences online and at local meetings. Despite government commitments to improving rural mobile coverage, Haslington continues to experience significant gaps in service—something Mr Naismith is determined to change.
Local residents can take part by visiting Connectivity in Haslington – Action Network. Connor is also encouraging constituents to share their stories to strengthen the campaign’s case.
