Connor Naismith MP Labour Member of Parliament for Crewe and Nantwich
From railway roots to tomorrow’s opportunities, the strength of Crewe and Nantwich comes from our people, our past, and our promise for the future. Connor Naismith MP

About Me
Connor is a proud constituency-first MP. He has put down roots here: his wife is a local primary school teacher and his daughter was born at Leighton Hospital.
Before being elected as Member of Parliament for Crewe and Nantwich in 2024, he was a school governor at a thriving community nursery school in Crewe.
All these connections have given him a deep personal interest in the social and economic development of the area.
Connor has been a self-starter from a young age, entering employment aged 16 with a job at Woolworths. From there, he held a range of office and retail roles alongside studying a degree in Sociology at Manchester University.
After university, he held several jobs in solicitors’ offices and in credit, before going to work for the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) which then became the Independent Office for Police Conduct in 2022.
He first joined the Labour Party in April 2015, just ahead of the 2015 General Election, having spent a long time talking about politics and the way the Conservatives and the Lib Dems had been governing the country at that time. He felt it was time to act and get involved himself by becoming a party member.
He was also elected as a Cheshire East Councillor in 2021, resigning upon his election to Westminster.
With a young family himself, Connor is driven by a desire to make Crewe and Nantwich an even better place to live – for this generation and the next – because it is his home and his community.
To that end, he volunteered during the pandemic delivering food and prescriptions to those most at risk of covid.
Now as the MP he’s leading national and local campaigns, from potholes and speeding right up to investment in national rail infrastructure.
Outside of politics, Connor is an avid supporter of Rangers FC due to his family’s Scottish roots and has likewise made strong connections with Crewe Alex since settling down here.
